Abstract Paintings by Simon Kenny

Hi Folks,

Welcome to my next blog.

Images of all my recent abstract paintings are posted below and should you be interested in seeing further details please visit http://simonkenny.artweb.com or you can email me directly at simonkenny@eskayfineart.co.uk with your questions.

My 2013 portfolio is continuing to expand with a steady stream of new abstract paintings being added weekly. To keep my work fresh I have also been painting a number of abstracted landscape, seascape and skyscape/ skyline paintings. My paintings are created using only high quality materials and painted in varying sizes on stretched canvases ranging between 36" x 24" up to 72" x 48".

I have continued with the same themes in my abstract paintings with roughly half the new pieces being mixed media colour burst paintings that combine a large number of techniques and a broad colour palette. The majority of my abstract oil paintings are created using brushes, palette knives and poured paint with strong elements taken from the natural and spiritual world but maintaining a strong abstract tone .

My mixed media paintings are inspired and created using photos of extreme weather, deep space and again contain elements of a spiritual nature. The abstracted landscape and seascape paintings are not based on any one place in particular which not only leaves the paintings open to interpretation by the viewer but also directly reflects my mind set as I was creating each piece.

I've recently exhibited in two art fairs and a group exhibition where a number of paintings sold and I have another 3 exhibitions lined up this side of summer and I'm considering a solo show for late July.

Paintings sales have continued to grow well beyond my expectations which has been fantastic and in the early part of the year I was commissioned by a corporate client in the U.S and recently completed two private commissions both for Australian clients.

That's it for now folks.

Abstract Paintings by Simon Kenny

Hi Folks,

Welcome to my next blog.

I have a completed a set of new abstract oil and mixed media paintings which are available for sale and listed on simonkenny.artweb.com or you can contact me directly using the details provided. Simply scroll down to view the new abstract paintings and should you want to see more or have feedback please don't hesitate to contact me with your comments via either my website http://simonkenny.artweb.com or via my email address below.

Each of the abstract paintings are created on large canvases of various sizes from 40 x 30" to 60 x 48". I have continued with the split in styles with my oil paintings using more traditional methods and my mixed media paintings combining a large number of techniques, some old and some new, applied over textured canvas. My mixed media paintings are inspired by photos of cloud formations both planetary and in deep space.

I have also started to use a high gloss resin finish on certain select abstract paintings as it not only enhances the vibrancy of colour but also connects the viewer to the work more directly. I'm going to offer this as an additional service rather than finish every painting in the resin as it may not appeal to everyone's taste. I have also switched courier services to UPS due to continuing issues with City Link and Yodel. The UPS services are of exceptional quality both with national and international sales, collections are always on time, tracking details accurate and to date no issues so I am happy to finally be confident in this part of my sales process.

Painting sales have continued to grow steadily with corporate commissions for a number of large abstract paintings taking up the bulk of my time over the past month or so. I have a number of abstract paintings under way with  two created in oil paint and two in mixed media so watch this space for further details.

Once again thanks for stopping by and please enjoy viewing my work below.

Simon Kenny Abstract Art Blog

Hi Folks,

Welcome to my next blog.

I have a completed a number of new abstract paintings, images below, which are available for sale and listed on various websites including my own at simonkenny.artweb.com

The paintings are all fairly large canvas pieces in either oil or mixed media.  I have started to use a high gloss resin finish which really effective and I'm sure most of you have seen previously on others work. It not only adds a 3 dimensional aspect but also increases the vibrancy. The  varying light reflected off the finish connects the viewer directly with the image so I think it really works on some of heavily textured abstract paintings.

The dark colour burst abstract painting called Elements is one of my recent favourites and although I have created 5 or 6 of these paintings in the past the finish just lifts the piece leagues ahead of the others so I'm really pleased with the outcome. I'm planning on creating a set of another five of these paintings perhaps with some varying colours alternating betweens reds and blues. I love experimenting with colour and texture on these paintings so really looking forward to getting stuck in there.

I have also just finished a number of really large corporate commissions paintings so time has been fairly limited to create works to my preference but I have three currently on the go which fingers crossed will be done in the next few weeks so watch this space.

This year to date I have sold 32 pieces from my 2012 portfolio as well as creating 12 commissioned paintings, all before the mad Christmas rush so I am really pleased with how things been so far. My work is steadily gaining recognition around the globe and I am now being approached regularly by galleries both nationally and internationally looking to represent me so I couldn't ask for more at the moment.

Also in the next few weeks I am hopefully to be selling work via newly developed gallery based in Mexico called Infinite Room. This is a great opportunity to increase my target audience and get my work seen as far a field as physically possible.

Four of my 2012 paintings are on show between 28th and 30th September with Art2Arts at upcoming Art Fair in Manchester . I have another solo exhibition planned for Bargrove focusing solely on my abstract oil paintings and hopefully one with the Lloyd Gill Gallery between November/ December. I have an exhibition planned in Bologna Italy in Late November, details to follow, and in the near future we are also looking to exhibit a number of my mixed media abstract paintings in the Dorchester Hotel London. This has been in the pipeline for some time and we are just waiting on confirmation of dates so I'll keep you posted.

If you are interested in any of the abstract paintings below, in my previous blogs, or would like to discuss a commission please dont hesitate in contacting me using the following email address.

Simon kenny Abstract Painting Art Blog

Hi Folks,

Welcome to my next blog.

I have a new website just launched, http://simonkenny.artweb.com , which contains my full, but not yet complete,  2012 portfolio. The work is predominantly on large canvases and are mixed media abstract colour burst paintings as well as a number of abstracted landscapes in oil paint.  I didn't actually start out with a set number of abstract paintings in mind but will be looking at around 50 works by the time the year is up, fingers crossed. Sales are still increasing dramatically with many buyers coming from overseas and over 60% of the paintings already sold not including commissions so I can't produce them quickly enough.

New art exhibitions coming up in the near future include the Dorchester Hotel London (date to be confirmed), and I am planning to join with Johnny Cotter mid July with an exhibition shortly after. Also in the pipe line is an exhibition in Barestone Court in August and another in the Creative Foundation Folkestone during the same month, further details coming shortly.

I am also offering a framing service for all my abstract paintings with a number of different frames to choose from with prices starting at £80 for a silver, black or gun metal gallery frame measuring 36 x 24", £120- 48 x 36",  £140 for a 50 x 40" canvas, further prices available by request.

Commissions are always welcome so should you have an idea in mind for a painting and would like to discuss things in further details please don't hesitate in contacting me at simonkenny@eskayfineart.co.uk
